Reading Challenge

Reading Prompts

Are you looking for some ideas of what to read? We have several prompts to guide you, with suggested books for each prompt. Each of the books listed are available to you through SUNY Canton resources. This includes physical books in Southworth Library, ebooks in our databases and through Libby, and audiobooks available through Libby.

If you would like to sign up for Libby to access more titles, follow the directions on the Access Other Libraries page.

You are not required to use any of the prompts or suggested books. They are here to provide some options and inspiration.

Where can I find more suggested books?

SUNY Canton librarians create displays, both physical and virtual, throughout the year. Displays are created about specific topics, specific types of materials, or about popular trends in reading.

Additionally, libraries can curate collections of books to display on services like Libby. To learn more about connecting with Libby, visit the Access Other Libraries page.

Sample physical displays

Display shelf of graphic novels and manga books.

Display shelf of books labeled as "Cozy Books & Mysteries" and "#Booktok".

Display shelf of books for Native American Heritage Month.
