Frequently Asked Questions

How can I borrow equipment from the reserves collection?

SUNY Canton students, faculty, and staff may borrow equipment from the reserves collection by presenting a valid college ID card at the circulation desk.

How long can I borrow an item from the reserves collection?

Due dates for reserves equipment are listed by item type above and are based on the type of item and are set to allow for maximum accessibility for the entire SUNY Canton community. You can also view your item's due date and time from within your library account page.

What happens if I decide to keep a reserves item past the due date?

If you borrow a reserves item past the due date, your borrowing privileges may be blocked (you will not be able to borrow any more library materials) until you return the item. If you frequently keep items past the due date or remove Library Use Only items from the library, you may lose your reserves borrowing privileges permanently.

It's important that you don't allow anyone else to use your ID or account because you are liable for any items checked out in your name. If a library item is not returned, you will be charged the full replacement value of the item plus a processing fee.
