Information about OERs at Southworth Library

Open Educational Resources (OER) Faculty Ambassador Program

Working collaboratively with the director of library services, OER Ambassadors will promote awareness and adoption among other faculty members. Ambassadors will be selected based on their commitment to adopting and using OER materials in their courses. Participation will be considered service, and responsibilities include:

 Promote OER usage with other faculty.

  • Raise faculty awareness about OER resources.
  • Provide information about adoption.
  • Contribute to best practices.
  • Assessment of effectiveness.

Participate in an OER focus group with the library director (1 meeting per semester).

The OER Focus Group meets once in the fall and once in the spring to examine issues related to OER adoption, including:

  • Methods for increasing awareness and adoption.
  • Best practices.
  • Assessment and effectiveness.
  • Cost savings.
