Monitor compliance: Southworth Library continues to provide equitable access to library resources and services to all users.
Southworth Library contains two wheelchair-accessible entrances. The first entrance to the Southworth Library is accessed from the SUNY Canton plaza with door access push buttons for both sets of doors. The second entrance is located behind the building, leading into the basement. It is only accessible with an approved swipe card.
An elevator is available to access the basement, first, and second floors. The elevator is located around the corner from the main Circulation Desk through the Tutoring Center hallway. The elevator is located directly across from the Writing Center. Access to the basement is limited to approved faculty and staff with swipe card access. The third floor/mezzanine study area is not wheelchair accessible.
The silent study area is located on the first floor under the staircase. The silent study area doubles as a classroom and event space so it might not be available at all times for use.
The quiet study area is located on the second floor past the upstairs bathrooms. It is not completely quiet as people are allowed to talk on the second floor. Study rooms are first come, first serve and can be used as quiet study areas.
The bathrooms in Cyber Cafe and on the second floor are ADA-compliant, single-use, and gender-neutral.
