What is a "library of things"?

A "library of things" contains items that you can borrow for a set amount of time. These are not books and movies that you might be used to borrowing from a library. Libraries of things contain items that you might need only for one project and therefore not want to buy for yourself, or they might be pricier items that are more difficult to obtain.

What is in the Learning Commons' Library of Things?

We have the following items in the Library of Things:

• Yogasleep Sound Machines
• Light therapy lamps
• Hot glue guns
• Pop shield/filters
• JLab USB Microphones
• LARK C1 Digital Wireless Microphone (Lightning Version) for lapels

The following policies apply to the Library of Things:

• Loan period: All items have a loan period of seven (7) days.
• Renewals: Items are not eligible for renewal.
• Late fees: There are no late fees.
• Lost items: Items are declared lost if they are overdue by seven (7) days.
• Replacement fees: If within seven (7) days of the item being declared lost it is not returned, the cost of the item and a $5.00 processing fee will be applied to your account.
  • If an item is not returned in the condition in which it was originally loaned, and/or if there are parts missing, the cost of the item and a $5.00 processing fee will be applied to your account.
