Vital Source Helps

We are working to help you access as many of your textbooks and course materials online as possible.  Many of your textbooks are now available through VitalSource Helps.

VitalSource Helps is the result of a partnership between publishers, campus bookstores, and others. VitalSource Helps will allow you to access many of your required course materials online. Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center is open! Students can continue to work with their favorite tutors via virtual real-time tutoring sessions and chats.

Drop-in appointments are welcome via Microsoft Teams. Simply log in to Teams using your SUNY Canton e-mail address and password, or navigate to Teams using the app menu in the web-based version of SUNY Canton e-mail. Select “Join or Create Team” and enter the code for the desired lab as indicated below. For help getting started with Microsoft Teams, please refer to our Teams Tutorial. All SUNY Canton students have access to Grammarly, an online proofreading and editing tool that helps writers develop sentence-level writing skills, reinforce revision habits, and detect plagiarism. To access free Premium services, please sign up for Grammarly using your SUNY Canton email address. Personal emails will not receive premium services without purchase. As a student at SUNY Canton, you have free access to ThinkingStorm’s online tutoring services. This online tutoring service is available 24/7/365 and connects you with a professional tutor. Simply log in to Blackboard using your SUNY Canton net ID and login credentials to access ThinkingStorm’s tutoring platform. Once logged in, navigate to one of your courses and use the left sidebar to access the “Tools” page. Next, scroll down and click the “ThinkingStorm” icon on the lower right column to be directed to the main page to connect to live tutoring or schedule an appointment if a tutor is not available for your desired subject. Course content areas include: Math, Science, Writing, Business, Nursing, and Design Software. Visit their website for a complete list of course availability or to check on tutor availability and schedule an appointment.
